Facebook ads for an insurance business
An insurance startup had no lead generation and no social presence at all. It now has consistent lead flow and a phone that rings.
Emily, Insurance. Recorded November 2023.
Emily operates in insurance, providing customised plans and streamlined payment processing to her clients. When we started, the business was a startup in the most literal sense — nothing running, no lead generation, no social presence.
That is a harder starting point than a broken account, because there is no data. A struggling campaign at least tells you what does not work. From zero, everything is a hypothesis until money has been spent to test it.
Insurance also carries genuine constraints. It is a regulated category where the platform restricts what can be claimed and how audiences can be targeted, so the creative and the offer have to do work that precise targeting would otherwise do.
The business now has consistent lead flow and inbound calls, built from nothing in a short period.
What she highlights beyond results is communication, and for a founder with no marketing background that is not a soft benefit. If you cannot tell whether the money is working, you cannot make decisions about it, and you end up either overspending on faith or switching everything off in a panic.
Her framing of who this suits is the right one: it depends on where your customers are. If they are on these platforms, the question is only whether your account is built to reach them.
In Emily’s words
“We came to him as a startup and we weren’t doing anything as far as lead generation. We didn’t know how to tap into social media marketing — our business just lacked that strategy.”
“Taking our business from having no social media presence, no lead generation, to where we are today — we’re getting so many leads, and we have people calling us.”
“We started off with nothing, and where we are today in such a short amount of time is absolutely amazing.”
